Welcome to Alex Passos' Homepage

Welcome to my homepage. My name is Alex Passos and I have been working with software development (professionally) since 1996. I have been writing software since I was 12 years old starting with a TRS-80. Back in those days personal computers came with a built-in BASIC interpreter (ROM based) and ports for cassettes so you could load your programs with such calls as BLOAD, and BSAVE. Also programs were written with line numbers and goto statements. Much has changed ever since!

I received my M.S. in Computer Science with research in computer graphics from Midwestern State University and my B.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Dakota. Throughout the years I have had the privilege to work in many areas of computing developing or managing projects for small start-ups, large corporations, small businesses, and education. The mix of projects and skills required always yielded a considerable amount of experience in software engineering and specific subject matters, such as E-Commerce, security, hosting, web applications, enterprise systems, and telecommunications.

In this web site I will share with you some of the "wisdom" I have developed or learned from others through this adventure called life, more specifically, in regards to the computing space. I am also going to post some of my projects for you to download and use as you please for educational purposes. Alot of these projects were developed sometime ago but you can still learn alot from them.

If you find anything useful, please feel free to drop me an E-mail. I would like to hear from you and how this website may have helped you gain new insights or experience into software development.
